Time

It is something that cannot be wasted

Something that should not be taken advantage of

Something that needs to be taken with grace

God gives us time for us to learn and grow

Without time we would have no direction

Lately I have realized the importance of time. I recently got over a relationship that stripped everything from me. He broke my trust, my heart and me as a whole. He was trying to make commitments to me that he could not fulfill I was all for it. But when the break up happened it felt as though my world was falling apart. Now I stand tall, I know he was a blessing in disguise because he taught me the importance of time and how precious it is. It is best to not waste time and it is best to take life one day at a time. Don’t worry about the past or the future as that will stress you to no limit, focus on the now and keep holding on.

Jeremiah 29:11 reads; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. If we stand and live our lives for God and he will give us a life to remember and cherish. He has plans for us beyond our wildest dreams. This happens in time. We cannot rush our lives and certainly cannot rush our walk with Christ. It is something that should be taken care of one step at a time.

For a long time I thought I found my forever in a guy. But as it turns out I was turning him into my own version of God. When we broke up I felt as though a huge part of me was gone and I was yearning for it to come back, but it didn’t. I was lost for quite a while and my friends saw me very depressed, but I made it through and I am better than ever because I turned to God in my time of need. He helped to show me that life needs to be taken one day at a time and not rushed. The guy had told me he was gonna marry me and I was all for it, but he wasn’t the right one for me and God helped me to see that. I really needed to see the true colors in people and I am happy I did as I could have made a HUGE mistake.

Time is precious and we need to take our time in life. Life is too short to be wasted on people who don’t matter to us. This realization has helped me to take life one step at a time and not worry so much about things. I really needed to come to this realization and I am happy that I have. It shows a lot of growth that I didn’t know was there.

Who am I?

Am I the woman of your dreams like you say?

Am I the woman who can conquer it all with you by my side? And you in my heart, body and soul?

Are there too many expectations of me to be a good girl?

Who am I to say I am any of that? Am I the leading factor of your happiness as you are to me?

When we said goodbye was it just temporary?

Is there more to come for you and I or is it all in my head?

You have watched from the sidelines as I continued to get hurt over and over again by the people I thought I needed in my life. Was that just a game to you?

You invited me into your life and everything was golden. But then we had to part ways. Is the time apart good or bad for us?

I don’t completely trust people, as I have been let down way too much in the past. Is it bad that I have my walls up and my heart guarded?

Will you always be the person in my life who helps me when I call out your name?

If all of these are true then you are the one for me and I need you in my life. Prove to me I am not just in my feelings about things. I have a loving heart anyone who is anyone can see that and is proud of who I have become thus far. Be proud I call you mine and don’t take my love for granted.

Beside Us

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Isaiah 43 discusses that Jesus will be with us through all of our life journeys. Through the best of times and through the worst of times. There is nothing we cannot conquer with God by our side.

We are called out by name by God. He has called us and made each of us the way we are for a reason. God has crafted each and everyone of us in his image and there is not a day in our lies that he has not seen. God would never put us in any situation we could not handle, that is not who he is.

Passing through the waters, or fire God has us. He will walk with us through all the different situations that we encounter. He will never let us fall. We are his and he will take care of us until we walk with him in Heaven.

Some people might be scared off as it explains how when we walk through the fire he will be with us. Some might take that as he’s not looking out for us and turning us away from the fire. The fire is a metaphor for the hardships we have in life. No it is wrong to think that he will walk us around the fire, though he does say he will be by our sides to walk through it. Walking through the fire we each have in our lives is just a part of life, but it is an important part of life. We as Christians need to learn how to walk through the fire and not be afraid to conquer it all because He is by our sides through it all.

A common question in the Christian faith is; if God is so good, why do bad things happen to good people? This is a normal question to ask. There really isn’t a solid answer to this question. But what can be said is that; we celebrate Good Friday. Good Friday should not be a celebration as it was the day when the worst thing happened to the best person. Good Friday was the worst Friday until Easter Morning.

Choosing to walk in Christ was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Though some days are hard, he is with me and loves me unconditionally. Through the fires and through the streams he is always with me. He is the one thing that will never ever ever give up on me and will never let me give up on myself. He is a driving force in my life. Choose to walk through life with him and you will forever be thankful. There is nothing I cannot do without him beside me :).

Nothing to do But, Look UP!

In Mathew 18:2-5 where Jesus himself tells us that we must “become as little children” to enter the Kingdom of God. Lauren Daigle takes inspiration from this idea and gives it her own twist. This twist later inspired me.  Lauren Daigle is one of my favorite worship singers. Her music is so current and so relatable to our day to day lives.

I recently watched one of her interviews that discusses finding your child-like self. This immediately sparked my interest and I wanted to portray how her words touched me and made a positive impact on my day to day life as well as on my heart. As many of you may know I recently graduated from university and have moved home. Learning how to actually “adult” and be able to be the person I am longing to be in my head is something I am beginning to learn how to do. Lauren’s interview discusses the ideas that it is okay to hold onto your child-like self, even through the hardships of life as well as the constant stream of expectations that are thrown at us on a day-to-day basis. It is always important to take a breather and take a break from reality and to go home and connect with who you are and where you come from, most importantly it is extremely important to connect with your roots. I feel I can relate to Lauren in this way as I am currently at home and reconnecting with who I am and who I want to be.

At one point in the interview she discusses that she has a piece of a Mr. Potato Head that she carries around in her purse where ever she goes to remind herself of what it was like to be child. Keeping true to the zeal and the understanding of how joyful things and life can be when we are children. As children we live carefree lives and this is something that is usually ignored as we grow into adults, though it should not be forgotten. We should always remember our child like selves and hold strong onto who we used to be because we can still carry the child-like faith wherever we go. It does not matter how old you are or where you are in your journey, keeping the child-like  faith is extremely important. She discusses that we are all called to walk with Him in child-like faith.

In the beginning of 2018 Lauren Daigle came out with her Album called Look Up Child.

We feel sometimes that when we don’t have everything on our to-do-lists completed we feel as though we have failed in some way. She discusses the idea that correlates very well to her Album and her album title of Look Up Child that when we feel we don’t have what ever we are going through nailed we don’t know what else to do, but the one thing we can do is LOOK UP!

Finally Free

During someone’s last semester of their final year of university there is a lot of pressure given to students. What am I going to do? Who am I going to become? Where am I going to end up? These are all “normal” questions to be asking yourself. However, you should not let that stop you or get in the way of you moving forward with your life.

Speaking from experience I struggled with finding the answers to all of these questions. Though as I am now a graduate I have been taking this time to focus on myself and turning my life and myself into the person I have always dreamed of becoming. It took me a little while to begin to understand what I wanted to do, but I realized half way through my senior year that it should not just be all about what I want to do with my life it is more of a question of who I want to become and what is the journey that God wants me to take on.

All of my life I have been in various youth groups and bible studies that have helped to guide me. They have not only helped guide me but have also been the leading factor of where my values are coming from. I am not that typical girl who is worried about material things in life and I have learned that it does not matter what people think of you. Honestly the only thing that I want to be “judging” me is God.

Accepting Christ into my life was one of the best decisions I believe I have ever endured. This journey is so magical and has really helped to settle my anxiety. He has brought so much happiness into my life and is always there no matter what. I can talk to him and know he will always listen and never have something else going on or something that is more important than a friend in need.

I finally feel as though I am at peace with who I am. I am not scared of how others will see me. I am a proud child of Christ and I love the life I have been blessed with. Some people may judge me or say mean or bad things about what I believe in, but He is my guiding factor and is someone who will stop the world for me to be by his side. I promise you that when you finally take the leap of faith and accept christ into your life, you will feel so free and at peace with yourself and who you are it is amazing. Things will still bother you and there will always be sin and temptation, but He has your back no matter what. You will realize you don’t need anyone else but him.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
